Deranged Liver Enzymes in COVID-19 Patients; and its Impacts on Prognosis

Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate derangement liver enzymes in COVID-19 patients. prevalence deranged hepatic with infection, its association other co-morbidities and any changes prognosis were investigated. Methodology: This conducted Mayo hospital from 1st June 2021 till 31st September 2021. A number 224 patients included study. Both male female varying age groups the Laboratory tests collect data related enzyme values each patient. Liver function test (LFT) performed twice, first on day 1 then 7 observe further LFTs told us Bilirubin, Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP), C-reactive protein (CRP), Ferritin D-dimer levels body. analyzed by SPSS analysis. t-test used for comparison standard features both groups. P value less than 0.05 regarded significant. Data about co-morbidities, autoimmune disease treatment, outcome also collected. Gender, PCR using descriptive Prevalence paired sample test. Association frequency Results: Sample consists individuals among them ratio 50:50 ranging 17-90 years. There 220 positive patients, negative 3 suspected 89.7 per cent having no disease. results showed that bilirubin, ALT show significant while ALP, CRP did not. diabetes mellitus hypertension highest percentage being 25 percent. Other like asthma, chronic hepatitis C many corona virus And 33 percent, shifted ICU. 18.8 percent admitted hospital. 20.5 died. discharged 6.3 HDU. Conclusion: As ALT, bilirubin concludes some, but not all, is prevalent COVID-19.
